The master plan of this city was designed by the well-known French architect, Le Corbusier and has an unparalleled architecture. Chandigarh is one of the seven Union Territories of India and serves as a capital for two states, Punjab and Haryana. Chandigarh has two satellite cities, Panchkula and Mohali.

Introduction:
Also known as The City Beautiful, Chandigarh, India serves as the capital of two states namely Punjab and Haryana. But when it comes to the administrative part it does not come under any of the states rather the Central Government administers it. That is the reason why it is classified as a union territory. The most special feature of this city is that it has two satellite cities namely Panchkula and Mohali. So sometimes these cities are also collectively called as the Chandigarh Tricity. With its high standard of living and with a decent Human Development Index Chandigarh, India tops the list of Indian states and Union territories.

Beauty of the city:

This city of Chandigarh, India is beautifully constructed. The construction of the city was initially planned into two phases. The first phase was for a population of 150000 and the second taking was for the population 500000. However, Le Corbusier who was the planner of this city divided this city into sectors and made each sector self-sufficient in the amenities. Another important feature of this city is that the greenery factor has been properly taken care of justice has been done with it. There are many beautiful parks and also various roundabouts that are a beauty in themselves in the middle streets Like Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Rose Garden, and Government Museum and Art Gallery etc . This makes the city all the more beautiful.
Chandigarh, India as a city is one of the most beautiful cities in the whole of India. It is also a major hub for industry, banking and Chambers of Commerce.

See Our Business Site

Chandigarh Developments:
Taking over from Albert Mayer, Le Corbusier produced a plan for Chandigarh that conformed to the modern city planning principles of Congres International Architecture Modern CIAM, in terms of division of urban functions, an anthropomorphic plan form, and a hierarchy of road and pedestrian networks. This vision of Chandigarh, contained in the innumerable conceptual maps on the drawing board together with notes and sketches had to be translated into brick and mortar. Le Corbusier retained many of the seminal ideas of Mayer and Nowicki, like the basic framework of the master plan and its components: The Capitol, City Center, besides the University, Industrial area, and linear parkland. Even the neighborhood unit was retained as the basic module of planning. However, the curving outline of Mayer and Nowicki was reorganized into a mesh of rectangles, and the buildings were characterized by an "honesty of materials". Exposed brick and boulder stone masonry in its rough form produced unfinished concrete surfaces, in geometrical structures. This became the architectural form characteristic of Chandigarh, set amidst landscaped gardens and parks.

Map of Chandigarh
